The Raymond John Wean Foundation Mission

MISSION

The Raymond John Wean Foundation enhances community well-being and vitality in the Mahoning Valley through grantmaking, convening, advocating, and providing leadership with a focus on economically disadvantaged people and neighborhoods.

While the Foundation does provide various grant opportunities, nearly all grants share one important trait — they directly raise the capacity of the recipient to effectively perform its stated mission. Our goal in grantmaking is to help organizations improve our communities and inspire others to increase their capacity for change.

We welcome grant requests from eligible tax-exempt organizations under Internal Revenue Code Section 501(c)(3) or as public charities under section 509(a) of that code who are providing services benefiting the residents of Mahoning and Trumbull Counties in Ohio.  Neighborhood and community groups may also qualify for grants in the Foundation’s Neighborhood SUCCESS Grants Program.
