Don Emerson said people of the Mahoning Valley are not afraid to exhibit 'pride'
Don Emerson said he believes The Raymond John Wean Foundation has become a catalyst for progressive change and he said he is happy to serve on its board.
“It is an opportunity to have local impact through the efforts of a dynamic organization,” said Emerson, who serves as the executive director of the Trumbull Metropolitan Housing Authority and is its ex-officio secretary.
Emerson said he believes the Mahoning Valley’s greatest assets are its people, social fabric and history. He also said the community is fortunate to have people willing to exhibit “pride.”
Emerson, a graduate of Warren G. Harding High School, earned a bachelor’s degree in political science and history from Miami University in Oxford, Ohio, and his juris doctorate from the University of Akron School of Law.
He is active with numerous community organizations, including the United Way, Ohio Housing Authorities Conference, Warren-Trumbull Public Library, Warren Kiwanis Club, Assisted Housing Services Corporation, King Soloman Lodge #87 and the New Fellowship Baptist Church.
