Germaine Bennett says Valley is moving in right direction

Germaine Bennett, a long-time educator and school administrator, said she believes that the Mahoning Valley is progressing in a positive direction.

Bennett holds a bachelor’s degree in elementary education from Central Missouri University, a master’s degree in counseling from Youngstown State University and a specialist degree in Educational Administration from Kent State University.

She retired in 2007 as the assistant superintendent of human resources and labor relations for the Youngstown City Schools and now works as an educational and human resource consultant for ONTASC.

In addition to serving on the board of The Raymond John Wean Foundation, she is also a member of the board of directors of Park Vista, Mercy Health Partners SWO, Youngstown City Health District, Youngstown State Alumni Relations, Villa Maria Education and Spirituality Center, Wick Neighbors, Youngstown Neighborhood Development Corporation and the Mahoning Valley Historical Society.

She said she serves on The Raymond John Wean Foundation board because she values the organization’s dedication to improving the valley by engaging and empowering community members. “I love this valley and have faith in our direction and I know that we are and will continue to make a positive difference,” she said.
