 Foundation Builds on Its 'Big Bets' Strategy as It Awards $837,500 in Grants

March 19, 2013 - The Raymond John Wean Foundation has announced $837,500 in grants to eight organizations for their work in the Mahoning Valley.  The awards include support for three key partners that are mainstays for the Foundation's Big Bet initiative to engage residents as leaders, build the capacity of community organizations and foster collective efforts and impact.

 First Grants Made in Re-imagined Neighborhood SUCCESS and Leadership Program

Frebruary 28, 2013 - The Raymond John Wean Foundation has awarded 30 grants totaling almost $110,000 under its Neighborhood SUCCESS and Leadership Program, a five-year-old effort that has been re-imagined to cultivate leaders as well as to engage residents of Warren and Youngstown in grassroots projects.

 Grants to Fund Internships for Nonprofits, Recreation Planning and Family Care

December 14, 2012 - The Raymond John Wean Foundation at its December meeting awarded grants totaling $110,000 to organizations for the support of internships for nonprofit public and civic sector leadership, planning recreation opportunities in Warren and professional development of family child care professionls.

 Grants Support Educational and Economic Opportunities

September 13, 2012 - Educational and economic opportunities were on center stage amont The Raymond John Wean Foundation's September grants, which totaled $145,000 and included awards for re-energizing the Mahoning Valley College Access Program; reporting by TheNewsOutlet.org on oil and gas drilling; and program support of the Tech Belt Energy Innovation Center.

July 18, 2012 - The Raymond John Wean Foundation holds a dedication ceremony for its new home in the historic Market Block Building.
