Neighborhood Success Warren Grant Making Committee

Steve Namola, lifelong Warren resident, says committee helps to give a voice to those who are not normally heard or understood

Steve Namola, who works for the City of Warren's Water Department, is a lifelong Warren resident.

He said he is happy to serve on the Neighborhood Success Grant Making Committee. "I serve on the Committee because I believe a lot of neighborhood groups would never have their ideas or even see their projects come to light without getting the opportunity to have their voice heard," Namola said.

"We have a lot of history here and a lot of good hard-working citizens," he said.

Although he is quick to stress the positive aspects of life and work in the Mahoning Valley, Namola also realizes that there are challenges.

He said the most significant challenges are economic. "We are losing jobs in our area all the time and when there are no jobs or work it is like a trickle down effect. People don't go out to eat, don't have money to fix up their house or buy a car and so on and so on," he said.
